Needle Felting

How Needle Felting Works.

Tools Needled

You can see the lovely fibres used here, my needles have homemade fimo handles.

Starting

This ball will be the head, you can see how soft it starts out.

Half felted

This has been worked on a little more, it's starting to firm up.

Finished Ball

This is how small the piece will get. It still has some give as we want to add more elements.

Adding Elements

This piece will have cheeks, so these two pieces can be felted straight on.

Prefelting

Each piece is felted a little before adding it on so that it will keep it's shape.

Attaching Elements

This shows the cheeks, having been firmed up, being felted in place

Finished felting

So this bunny now has cheeks, a little nose and his ears have also been created and then felted straight on

Adding Eyes

I use glass beads for my eyes, making a socket for each eye means it will sit well.
